Over your head on purpose

There is a sermon that I have listened to a few times and it is just racking me.... it is about prayer. Now....I pray, I have read about prayer, I have heard sermons on prayer, heck I have taught others about it....but Bill Johnson's level of revelation on the subject is just racking to me. I wish I knew how to get you the sermon...you should hear it.

Here is a one liner that I have been meditating on:

"There are two ways to learn prayer. One because it is the right thing to do and the other because you are in over your head and you are extremely desperate."

God did it with the disciples...check it out. He sent them out BEFORE he taught them how to pray. He essentially gave them a job that was impossibe (Heal the Sick, Cleanse the Lepers, Raise the Dead)....but when you are in over your head where do you go? To the one who can do it all...he wants to use me to do these things...will I let him?

Will you?

Great post, Charlene. I agree. Many people feel guilty in going to God at the point of desperation ... even though they still will because they're desperate enough. I think God melts any time we come to Him ... desperate or not. And He'll always take us where we're at.

Hey Girl! Thanks for your sharing your current thought that you're ponding. I loved that quote.

I remember when we hear Bill Johnson while in Texas. He was one of the best speakers I've heard. One thing that I still think about to this day, (and often tell people when He's brought up in topic) is how almost every sentence and thought out of his mouth, was profound. How I want to break down each thought, but he continues on to the next. You definately can't go away without a Challenge with that Man! So Great!!

As for your post, I love when Dad wrecks us, and when I just want to talk wtih him. Both are tender. But to be in over my head...scary prayer b/c he'll take us there, But needed for so many reasons.

Thanks Charlene, I was going to head into Quiet time after this, and now it's going to be interesting! Hope you're well!
