Ministry and a Movie

Well, some of my favorite folks are in town. I am not embelshing my affection for them because I am pretty sure that they will read this :)...ah no, not at all.


Seriously though I was reminded today why I love ministering with and serving my dear friend AJ...and now her husband Alyn, too. Why you say? I enjoy it because it is real life. They are the real thing...easy to respect, admire, and receive from...and easy to tease, laugh with, and see a movie with. Do you know the type? Unfortunately, sometimes hard to find in the church.

I have spent my young adult life in the church...since I was 16, I have craved to "SERVE God and do EXACTLY what he wants me to do". With that in mind I have commited myself to things and given up things all in trying to hear what God wanted me to do with my life. When I first entered the world of ministry I was fully convinced that I was good enough...then I was fully convinced that I wasn't...that I wasn't able to be used by God (some hurtful leaders helped me with that UGB)....when I met AJ in September 2002...that all changed. God showed me that HE could take AJ from an abused past and use her, as a single woman in ministry. She wasn't special (well..she is, but you know what I mean)....she was real and God showed me through AJ that He could use me too. I knew in my spirit that AJ and I were going to be good friends....and we are. I have learned alot from our friendship and I continue to learn. I am so excited to see her with her husband, ministering and laughing....living...

So, I say all of that as a lead in to say, I had a good day with my friends and I am excited to spend the week with them here in Dallas and am honored to travel with them to Austin. We had a great day with a service at Refuge and one at Deliverance Bible, dinner at Rosa's and then a movie...

Oh yeah, if you want to see a clean thriller you must check out REDEYE...decently predictable...but I kept covering my eyes and tensing up...so, I think it got me....
