Hello Friends!
We have been in Harrismith, SA for two days now. It is absolutely beautiful here. It is also very cold...(Alece was right). It is great during the day when it is sunny (I forgot my sunglasses) but at night I am appreciating my warm clothes...can I just say, I LOVE FLEECE SOCKS!!!
We have been working on the base and getting oriented. We are preparing to receive 14 Summer staffers and then two outreach teams next week. It has been great to hear Niel and Alece's vision and heart up close and personal....I have already cried..which isn't a good sign for me not getting attached. :)
I want to encourage my blog readers to check out Thrive's website and give them MONEY!! www.thriveafrica.org
WHY? Because they have some great opportunities to affect all of Africa through the school system in this area...they are in the schools teaching (10 right now)about purpose and detiny...actually they have nationals working in the schools as coaches...it is brilliant really. The deal is that there are a few bottlenecks to reaching the 240,000 students...one of those things in money. They want to continue to double the number of schools and grades that they are reaching...but that takes more money...for books, for gas, for training.
Also, it has come to my attention that cars here are really expensive...like double to triple...so send money. :) I knew I could count on you guys (Alece, there is no need to send money to yourself :))
I will write more tomorrow....

I'm so excited for you! I hope you see God in everything you see, hear and do there this month. Give Alece a hug for me.
Love, M.T.
Dearest Ladies,
I miss my girls! Trust that His glory is going before you and that it is your rear guard. I dreamt about you last night Ashley, several times. I love you and excited to hear of His greatness in your life being fulfilled- both of yours. Looking forward to pictures!
Love, Mom
