This entry is dedicated to my new African friend (kinda African...well actually African Arizonan). I can't believe my time is almost up here in Africa. There are several things that I will miss and several people....one of which is Rebecca. Rebecca is on staff with Thrive and as I have been here I have noticed that they are VERY fortunate to have her. She gives her all to help the ministry and to serve Niel and Alece. So, after a day of hanging out with her on a bus for 8 hours and 3 hours in Durban...I thought I would write a poem about her.
Rebecca oh Rebecca, what a funny girl you are
You have a sense of humor that will take you far
You may look sweet and innocent, but I have seen you play
Up the River and Down, you will take the cake any day,
Though I can't believe you hate cute little poodles and especially the wind,
I will give you a break because you are my new friend!
Okay, so I am not the best poem writter...but, I thought it was funny.
Seriously though, I must mention that Rebeccca is only 22 years old and has already been here for 2 years...she is seriously more mature than I was at 25! She works very hard and has a great sense of humor. I look forward to the possibility of working with her in the future!
I will have to include a picture of Rebecca and I later, because it is still on the computer. I will also include an update of the rest of our trip tomorrow. The time is almost up here...we leave on Monday to head to the city...and then off to the airport on Tuesday.
See you soon-
Charlene
