Shouldn't we all live by Faith? I thought I did, until I started raising support to move across the world...now I have learned that I actually have been living by a mixture of Faith and control.
Here in the US, we teach that you can have everything if you work hard. Work Hard... I can't say that I have always worked hard, but I always worked...and then gotten paid, even if it was less than I thought I deserved ;).
I am so excited about working and living at Thrive. I am excited about working hard for a real purpose...but I am having to really adjust to the paychecks coming in small amounts from various people. I am leaving the land where I could get a job tomorrow for a land where I have no control over the money that supports me.... it is exciting and scary all at the same time.
A chance to learn that God is the great provider....that all of these years that I thought I was taking care of myself, it was really Him. That those checks that came monthly from UPS were really from HIM and that He will provide while I am working HARD in South Africa.
So an assignment for my few blogreaders left out there..... Tell me a story about a time when you learned about living by Faith?

good stuff, char... the faith walk is at times a balancing act, I know! challenging, yet so rewarding...
last week, we asked the staff to pray for the ministry finances - our monthly income had dropped quite a bit. just days later, we received a large donation in the mail. when i wrote to thank the "givers", i was assuming that it had been in response to the fire we had. her reply was a huge lesson in living by faith -- they heard about the fire only AFTER they sent the check. God faithfully knows our needs before we even know about them!
WOW! That is awesome!
Thanks for the testimony!
