The High was 45 degrees Fahrenheit!!

I am not kidding. It was a sudden drop in temperature today. When I awoke I knew it was cold...I could hear the wind howling outside my window and I could see the wind in my living room (we have a bit of a draft thanks to a thatch roof and non insulated windows)...but I had no idea how cold it was going to be today.

I didn't know that this is suppose to be the coldest winter in like 7 years and they flew in an expert from the states to Harrismith! When the locals are worried...we have something to be concerned about!

It was a sight to see...I had on four layers, my gloves, a blanket around me and a small heater at my feet- where was I? In my office! Tonight I loaned my heater to the interns who live up the hill at the base of the mountain...I felt bad for them....so I borrowed Alece's heater....it is very interesting.

It is kinda of like a tanning bed and fireplace all in one. Tonight Rebecca, Kel and I hung out on the floor in their living room....around the fire...or the heater. It was hilarious. We started making plans for an alternate TV room if the weather is going to remain as such....

I think it is going to be an interesting winter. Tomorrow I am off to Joburg for a conference... I think it will be a good- albeit cold day.

It is suppose to get colder by Wednesday and maybe warm up next week. I sure do hope so.

I just wanted to let you all know....it does get cold in Africa!
